Unions objected to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott today tabling the motion that would cut the pension benefits at the centre of Tuesdays massive walk-out.

Unison leader Dave Prentis, leader of the massive Unison union said that the move was "provocative, premature and unnecessary".

The unions have announced dates for regional strikes between 25th and 27th April.
